Gaskets

We offer a specialist gasket cutting service to a customer's requirements whether it is a one-off or a thousand off. This service is offered at both our Norwich and Ipswich Branches. The maximum size of our cutting bed is 1600mm x 800mm so we can cope with large items or multiple knives to reduce the part cost.

We have many specialised materials available, the more commonly requested are listed below.  All are available in a range of thicknesses in sheet or roll form to suit your requirements.

Black Neoprene

Low cost material suitable for minor mechanical demands

  • Hardness 60-65 Shore
  • Temperature -10C to +70C
  • Moderate resistance to ozone
  • Moderate resistance to weathering

EPDM

A good material where a high resistance to the elements or wet conditions are required

  • Hardness 70 Shore
  • Temperature -20C to +100C
  • Excellent ozone resistance
  • Excellent resistance to weathering

Nitrile

A good material where oils, benzene or acids are involved

  • Hardness 70 shore
  • Temperature -20 to +80C
  • Good Resistance to Oil
  • Good resistance to benzene (also suitable for unleaded fuels)
  • Moderately resistant to acids
  • Resistant to strong bases

Tan Shotblast

Good where abrasion occurs and high elasticity is required

  • Hardness 40 Shore
  • Temperature -40C to +70C
  • Moderately resistant to acid
  • Good resistance to strong bases
  • Excellent resistance to abrasion

Insertion Rubber

A reinforced material to stop the rubber spreading when clamped down

  • Hardness 70 Shore
  • Temperature -10C to +70C
  • Moderately resistant to acid
  • Moderately resistant to bases

White Food Quality Neoprene

For use where food quality rubber is required i.e. where the rubber is coming into contact with food products or liquids

  • Hardness 60 - 65 Shore
  • Temperature -10C to +70C
  • Moderately resistant to acid
  • Moderately resistant to strong bases
  • Moderately abrasion resistant

Red / White Silicone

Silicone is an excellent material for low and high temperature applications where you need a seal to stay flexible and not go brittle. It also is a food quality material

  • Hardness 60 Shore
  • Temperature -40C to +200C

Klingersil C-4324

Used for a variety of applications in general industrial service

  • Hardness N/A
  • Temperature varies according to grade
  • Resistant to oil
  • Resistant to hydrocarbons
  • Good with low pressure steam

Cork Gasket

Normally impregnated with Nitrile, Cork is a medium compressible high density material especially suited to automotive and marine applications

  • Hardness 65 - 80 Shore
  • Temperature -10C to +110C
